Father, you are sovereign. Though the path to where I am may be riddled with sin and brokenness, you don't make mistakes. If I am here, you have a plan for your glory, a purpose full of life to speak over me. Speak it and it shall be. I'm weary and I'm prone to collapse into myself when confronted with pain. But let me see your rod and staff of comfort. May I lean on them for guidance.
I invite you into the place you created. Into this moment you saw in your eye when you called life out of nothing. Galaxies don't spin unless you move them into motion; trees don't grow without your breath of life streaming through their barren arms; strands of DNA find their identity when you bring them together; and I exist here in this moment because you spoke it into my heart.
More than happiness, success, resolution or even peace, I need you. Where you are is where my soul longs to be. Help me trust your sovereignty. Help me feel your presence.
Amen.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12
